Rebel. The very name brings up images of war, conquering, resistance, and courage. To some, it is the dress of taking up arms a meetst oppressive governments. To others it is the difference in the way heap think. Others think of smoking, drinking and breaking rules. Rebel, by definition, means: A person who resists any authority, control, or tradition. However, from each one person bases their own definition on their personal experiences and their ideology. So, who is a rebel? A person who is willing to push ultraviolet lines and challenge the greater authority, be it the parents or the government. Such mutinous behavior can be positive and benefit the pitying race (Gandhi’s peaceful rebellion against the English brought a sense of nationalism to India, and provided an example for all third manhood countries to resist foreign powers) or worthless and foolish (Lindsey lohan’s behavior provides an excellent example: underage drinking, inebriate driving, drug use). It all comes down to the cause. If you are standing up for a valid cause, your rebellion is worth standing up for. If it is merely to attract media attention, you are a rebel without a cause.
