Hypnosis is the term used to describe when a person ( stem) is guided by another person (hypnotist) into an entire call forth of relaxation and focus. A state in where the apprised mind becomes more relaxed and the subconscious becomes more focused. It is whilst in this state (trance) that a subjects subconscious mind, the place where their beliefs and cerebration patterns reside become easily more accessible and subject to suggestibility and thus change by the other person.
Hypnosis or the mesmeric state has been recorded as far back as written records and cultures go. However they are often related to piety or religion combined with healing. The ancient Egyptian checkup text Ebers Papytus refers to superhuman therapeutic powers achieved finished remedial utterances. Hypocrites refers to a deep sleep which allayed pain.
