The work I have chosen after tour The Department of Art Alumni Exhibit is Rachael Hetzels The Leaves Were Falling. This piece of ar 2rk is a letterpress that was made in 2009. This artwork interested me because of the surface and detail. It is a very small piece of artwork only when inside this work there is a lot button on.
The firstborn thing that caught my eye when I saw this letterpress was the orangish leaves. This is because they ar the b correctlyest thing in the picture and also in appear of everything else. So the picture is visually organized to pose someones eyes start off by looking at the leaves and whence it carries the viewer to the blue river which then leads the person up to the tolerate with the two dogs outside. Rachael uses shading on the bank of the river to show that the ground has a slope. The Leaves Were Falling is a dynamic piece of artwork. This is because the orange leaves located in the hind end left of the artwork overpowers everything else behind it. This image creates an illusion of shrewdness and deep space. The leaves seem to be right in front of the viewer while the river gets smaller as it leads toward the back of the artwork. The house is visually behind the leaves and the one dog closer to the leaves looks to be larger than the other dog father away.

The artwork is dynamic and Rachael Hetzel uses proportion to show the blood between the parts of the artwork. The scale shows how big the house is compared to the two dogs outside. The image is varied in organization because the viewers eyes travel all throughout the artwork. Another principle of design seen in this artwork is emphasis. The point of focus is all the way the orange leaves that draw the viewers attention right away. The scale of this artwork is relatively small, but there is very much variety.
