Josh, compete by George West Carruth, is a cocaine addict who has an imaginary number friend named Jake, played by William Hayden. Jake helps Josh create his stories, only Josh only sees Jake when he is getting high. The entire world of this play revolves around Joshs fantasies. His psychological hallucinations delay Josh and Joshs world. He is a captive of his own mind throughout the entire play. Although the acting is very good in this play, the spectacle also plays a large role in the quality of the Smallwoods production.
